Germany to give Ukraine another Patriot MIM-104 system to strengthen air defense

The German government is going to send Ukraine another Patriot air defense system.

This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. Deliveries of weapons should begin in the near future. The complex will be transferred from the Bundeswehr’s stockpile. In addition to the anti-aircraft missile system, Germany will also send Ukraine missiles for air defense systems. By the way, earlier Germany handed over two Patriot systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The MIM-104 Patriot is an anti-aircraft missile system developed by the American company Raytheon. It consists of an air interceptor missile and a high-performance radar system. The probability of hitting an airplane is 0.8-0.9, and a tactical missile – 0.6-0.8. The cost of one missile is about $3 million.
