Instagram launches its own chatbot based on artificial intelligence
Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has introduced its Meta AI chatbot to Instagram personal messages. The move follows the introduction of chatbots on other platforms such as Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
Meta AI, introduced in September 2023, uses generative artificial intelligence to answer questions, compose poetry, and even create images based on text prompts. Although Meta AI is not yet available to all users, some have noticed that it has appeared in the Instagram search bar.
Testing conducted by Engadget has shown that users can interact with Meta AI in the same way as with friends’ messages, requesting word definitions, article titles, or even images of specific topics, such as dogs on skateboards. According to observations, Meta integrates the same chatbot into all its applications with similar functions on different platforms.
