Girkin-Strelkov allegedly beaten by Ukrainian radical in detention center – Russian media (photo)

Russian propaganda Telegram channels claim that Igor Strelkov-Girkin, the former “defense minister” of the so-called “DPR” and a Russian terrorist, was allegedly beaten in a detention center. Some of the posts include photos of a person resembling Girkin.

According to reports, the terrorist, also known by the pseudonym “Runov,” was taken to the detention center together with Ukrainian prisoners of war from Mariupol. According to the propagandists, the attack on him occurred when Girkin went for a walk – he was allegedly beaten by a Ukrainian defender of Mariupol.

The propagandists write that this was authorized by the administration of the detention center. And one of the authors of the message expressed the opinion that Girkin may never be released from custody.

“A right-wing radical attacked. Naturally, without the green light from the administration, it was impossible to do this,” the statement said.

As a reminder, Igor Girkin was arrested in July 2023 on charges of calling for extremism and faces up to 5 years in prison. He declared his readiness to cooperate with the investigation, but continues to deny his guilt.
