Google Bard chatbot has a new feature: it will watch YouTube videos and answer your questions
Google Bard AI chatbot can now watch YouTube videos and answer questions related to their content.
The company announced that it is taking “the first steps in Bard’s ability to understand YouTube videos.” Before this latest update, Bard could only be used to search for specific videos on YouTube. Now you can ask the chatbot specific questions about the video. For example, if it’s a pie recipe, a chatbot can be asked how many eggs are needed for this recipe.
“We’ve heard that you want to engage more deeply with YouTube videos. So we’re expanding YouTube’s ability to understand certain video content so you can have a deeper conversation with Bard about it,” the company said in a statement, as quoted by TechCrunch.
The Verge notes that this feature is currently only available to participants in Google’s Labs product testing project and is unstable. For example, journalists asked the chatbot to analyze a video with a recipe, and it did not provide information about the “full recipe” but was able to write cooking instructions upon request for “step-by-step instructions.”
