Google has developed an AI-based tool that can write news

Google is testing a new artificial intelligence technology called Genesis. She is able to generate news articles, according to The New York Times. This tool has already been demonstrated for representatives of The Times, The Washington Post, and News Corp, the company that owns The Wall Street Journal.

According to the people who watched the presentation, Genesis can create text based on the data provided to it, whether it is current events or some other type of information. Google believes that journalists will be able to use this tool as an aid to automate some tasks, allowing them to focus on other important aspects of their work.

However, some people who witnessed the demonstration described it as “disturbing”. According to them, this program does not seem to take into account the hard work that goes into writing accurate and understandable articles. Jeff Jarvis, a professor of journalism at the City University of New York, believes that journalists should use this tool if it can provide reliable information. However, since Google has not yet launched Genesis in full, we cannot say for sure how effective it will be in doing so, or whether the use of this tool will lead to the spread of false information.

It’s important to note that attempts by some publications to use artificial intelligence tools have not always been successful. For example, CNET had to make corrections to a large number of articles written with the help of AI. There have also been cases where Gizmodo’s io9 editors published an article about Star Wars that contained many errors because of the Gizmodo Bot. According to io9 Deputy Editor-in-Chief James Whitbrook, the editorial team was not involved in the publication of this article and had no opportunity to make corrections before it was published.
