Google Meet has added retouching features to smooth skin, hide black eyes, and more.

Google has launched new portrait retouching features for Google Meet on mobile devices that will allow you to “slightly touch up your appearance” during calls. The web version is scheduled to be released by the end of 2023.

The correction feature is available in Google Meet on mobile devices for the first users, and the rollout to the rest is scheduled for October 28. Two levels of retouching are offered:

  • Subtle: Very lightly evens out the complexion, brightens the under-eyes, and whitens the eyes.
  • Smoothing: A slightly higher level of complexion evenness, under-eye brightening, and eye whitening.

According to Google, this update has been highly requested by users, and they hope it will give them confidence during video calls.
