Google will automatically integrate AI into search answers without user consent

Previously, to use the new feature, you had to activate the Search Generative Experience (SGE) option on the Search Labs platform. Now, the answers selected by AI have started to appear in the search results of all US users.

So far, Google has activated AI search for “a small percentage of search traffic in the US. Now, the AI-generated block will appear when processing complex queries or in cases where the search engine believes that it will be useful for the user to get information on the issue of interest from several sources.

The block generated by the neural network will be displayed in cases where the algorithm determines that AI results provide better information than regular search results. Google introduced the SGE feature in May last year after it opened access to the Bard chatbot, later renamed Gemini.
