Heat wave in Ukraine: temperatures will drop from Monday and on Tuesday in some regions even up to +14 with winds and thunderstorms

On Saturday and Sunday, it is extremely hot in Ukraine. Almost all of the country has temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. And in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, the thermometer reaches a record 38-39 degrees Celsius. This leads to localized power outages due to air conditioners being turned on and a significant load on the power grid.

However, according to forecasts, the temperature will begin to drop rapidly on Monday, August 7. On Sunday, August 6, the temperature in Zakarpattia will drop to 18-19 degrees per day. Also, the drop in temperature will bring significant rains and thunderstorms from Monday, especially in the Western regions, Northern and Central Ukraine.

According to weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, the air temperature will be around zero on Monday:

  • In the western regions, +18+23 degrees are expected.
  • in the northern regions: +25 in Zhytomyr, +27 in Kyiv, +27 in Chernihiv, and +31 degrees in Sumy.
  • in the central regions: +27 in Vinnytsia region, +28 in Kropyvnytskyi with districts, +27+29 in Cherkasy region.
  • But in Poltava and Dnipropetrovs’k regions it is still hot, up to +30+35 degrees.
  • in the southern part: in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Crimea, it will be +29+31 degrees, and in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, it will still be +32+37 degrees.

On Monday, rains and thunderstorms will be brought by a cold atmospheric front moving towards us from Hungary, Romania and Poland, which is associated with the Baltic cyclone Zacharias.

Because of the very significant temperature contrasts – in front of the front it is +37, behind the front it is +18 degrees! – showers, squalls and hail are likely as the front passes.

The heat wave will stop in Kyiv on Monday. The air temperature will be +27, +28 degrees. The wind is strong!

Tomorrow, an atmospheric front will cause a drop in air temperature, lower atmospheric pressure, rain, thunderstorms, heavy showers, and a squally wind increase in some places. Watch out!

A sudden change in the weather can affect your health – don’t worry, just keep something nearby to relieve pressure, your head, and in the morning, choose a parking spot near the office more carefully, not under an old poplar tree or a billboard.

In the future, the heat (not severe, not up to +37) will continue for a few more days in the eastern part of Ukraine, but even there it will become easier to breathe for a week.

Summer continues, the heat is gone, and now the freshness will come, everything we ask of the atmosphere.
