High-speed trains in Japan have been suspended due to a power outage

In the eastern and central regions of Japan, high-speed trains were partially suspended due to power outages. This is stated in the message of the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

Rail trains stopped running on the Tohoku, Joetsu and Hokuriku lines.

The failure occurred around 10:00 local time.

The passengers were evacuated.

According to JR East, the fault could not be fixed. The company said that it may take some time to restore traffic.
