Holcim, a manufacturer of construction materials, is leaving the Russian market. ‘Interfax-Ukraine’ writes about this with reference to the company’s press service.
It is noted that assets in Russia are sold to local managers. The contract on the transfer of the property has already been signed, but the deal will be closed only after the approval of the regulators. The new owners of the production will be obliged to change the brand.
According to the publication, the company has four cement plants in the Moscow region and one each in the Kaluga and Saratov regions. Holcim also owns three quarries for the extraction of non-metallic materials. The Russian branches have about 1,800 employees.
We will remind that the production of half of the building materials in the Russian Federation is 70% dependent on imported equipment. Already in 2025-2026, the Russian market will experience an acute shortage of building materials.
