REFERENCE. The Crotale is a French all-weather, short-range anti-aircraft missile system designed to engage air targets in the medium, low and extremely low altitude range. It can be used both for air defense of strategically important strongholds, control centers, missile launch positions, and for direct cover of combat formations. The maximum range is 10 km, the maximum target height is 6 km, and the maximum speed is 2.4 M.
On December 20, 2022, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country had sent Crotale air defense systems to Ukraine.
