How the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the latest Russian tank “Breakthrough” (video)
The combat vehicle was first hit by a Russian ATGM and then “finished off” by a drone.
A video from the 5th separate artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was posted online showing how they destroyed the latest T-90M “Breakthrough” tank of the Russian occupation forces. The “demilitarization” of the tank took place in the Svatove-Kreminna direction. This is at least the 18th “Breakthrough” destroyed by the Ukrainian military during the war.
“We found the target, immobilized it, and then finished it off,” the brigade commented on the destruction of the enemy tank.
Interestingly, the Russian tank was hit by a Russian-made anti-tank missile system, the Kornet. Thanks to it, our military managed to shoot down the enemy tank. However, after the hit, the crew of the combat vehicle got out and fled.
Next, a drone was used to destroy the tank, which dropped two homemade Molotov cocktails on the T-90M Proryv. It is important to destroy or severely damage an enemy vehicle in a combat zone, as there is a high risk that the enemy will eventually be able to take the vehicle and throw it back into combat or send it for repair.
According to the Oryx portal, this is at least the 18th Russian “Breakthrough” destroyed since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, although the first such vehicle was “demilitarized” in May last year.
