Huawei will release its Vision Pro augmented reality helmet

China’s Huawei is working on a new augmented reality helmet, which will be called Vision Pro, just like Apple’s products.

This was reported by Portaltele.

According to Li Nan, former Meizu marketing director and founder of Numiao Technology, the similarity of the names to the American tech giant is due to the fact that Huawei patented the name in China in 2019.

Huawei Vision Pro Characteristics

Huawei Vision Pro will have Sony’s Micro OLED 4K screens (possibly the same ones used in Apple Vision Pro) and a gesture-based control system “with virtually no delay based on in-house developed chips.” Huawei Vision Pro will not have the EyeSight function like Apple Vision Pro, but the helmet will weigh almost half as much – only 350 grams.

The price of the helmet will be 15 thousand UAH. yuan is a little more than $2 thousand at the current exchange rate. That is, Huawei Vision Pro will be almost twice as cheap as Apple Vision Pro. However, there are rumors that Apple is preparing a more affordable version of its helmet.

Li Nan did not say when Huawei Vision Pro will be released, but he noted that Sony will be ready to supply screens in six months. In other words, Huawei Vision Pro will appear at best only by the fall of this year.

It should be noted that the Chinese electronics manufacturer Huawei has not left the Russian market and is a sponsor of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
