Hyundai is preparing to launch Casper EV, a tiny electric car for 20,000 euros
Hyundai is preparing to launch a tiny four-door electric car Casper EV on the European market. It will be available in the third quarter of this year. In France, the Hyundai Casper EV city car will cost about 20,000 euros including VAT.
In South Korea, a gasoline version of the city car with a 1.0-liter engine has been on sale since 2011. But for the Old Continent, the car was equipped with an electric power plant.
The overall length of the Casper EV is only 3591 mm, 559 mm less than the Chevrolet Bolt EV. At the same time, the electric version is 254 mm longer than its gasoline counterpart.
In addition to its compact size, the price tag of the electric vehicle is influenced by the lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery, which can provide a range of 200-300 km. This is quite enough for European cities. In the market, Hyundai Casper EV will have to compete with the Chinese-made Citroen e-C3 and Dacia Spring.
