In the Black Sea, a cargo ship flying the Panamanian flag exploded on a Russian mine

A Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier loaded with grain is hit by a Russian naval mine in the Black Sea. The civilian vessel was heading to one of the Danube ports.

This was reported by the Southern Defense Forces.

After the explosion, the vessel lost its momentum and control, and a fire broke out on the top deck. The captain fixed it in the shallows to prevent it from sinking.

The boats of the Maritime Guard and the Search and Rescue Service helped the crew and brought the medics on board. Two sailors were injured. One sailor was treated on the spot, and the other was taken to the nearest hospital. His condition is satisfactory.

Tugboats were sent to the bulk carrier to remove it from the shoal and bring it to the port.
