In Ukraine, payments for the birth of a child will now be up to UAH 384,000
The Verkhovna Rada decided to fight the low birth rate in the country. To this end, the draft law No. 11072 on increasing maternity benefits has been considered.
A relevant document has been published on the Parliament’s website.
“Analyzing recent years, the birth rate in Ukraine has declined. In general, over the past ten years, the birth rate in the country has fallen by 40%. The reasons for the decline in the birth rate are diverse, but the main problems remain the low level of assistance at birth, as well as military operations on the territory of Ukraine,” the explanatory note to the document says.
Thus, if the document is approved, birth payments will be made:
- At the birth of the first child, the state should provide assistance in the amount of UAH 384,500.
- In the case of the birth of a second child, the amount of assistance is recommended to be 256.3 thousand UAH. UAH.
- For the third and each subsequent child, the proposed amount of assistance is UAH 128,200.
As a reminder, the current amount of state aid for the birth (adoption) of a child is approximately UAH 41,300. This amount has not been revised for ten years and has almost halved in value against the dollar.
