Instagram has launched a new option — posts with short notes, like Twitter

Note is displayed 24 hours after publication

The social network Instagram talked about the new feature ‘Notes’ – users can now create short text posts up to 60 characters long, which are displayed at the top of the ‘Messages’ section, reminiscent of Stories.

To use the new function, you need to go to the ‘Messages’ section of the application and click on the image with your own picture of the user, create a note and choose who will see it.

The note is displayed 24 hours after publication, and you can reply to it with a personal message.

The platform’s administration said people liked this ‘easy way to share what’s on their mind and start a conversation.’

In addition, group profiles will soon appear on the social network, which allow users to publish shared content.

Another innovation was the start of extensive testing of the Candid Stories function – an analogue of the BeReal service, which offers daily photos in an improvised atmosphere. However, photos from this section will be visible only to those who have also decided to participate in the program – everyone who has this option is reminded by the system to take a picture at the same time every day.

‘Notes’ is available today for all users, and group profiles and Candid Stories are still being tested and will start functioning a little later.
