Installation of a trident on the shield of the Motherland monument cost UAH 21 million: who contributed the money

As reported, the sculptor-monumentalist Oleksiy Pergamenshchyk went through up to 30 versions of the trident while working on a sketch. On the morning of August 6, the Ukrainian trident was installed on the Motherland monument in Kyiv instead of the Soviet coat of arms.

The list of donors was published by the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War.

“We have talked a lot about the various technical and technological aspects of dismantling/installing the symbols on the shield and making the Trident itself. But all of this would not have been possible without donors – people and organizations who donated significant amounts to implement a project of national importance,” the statement said.

In particular, they provided money for the reconstruction of the monument:

  • Universal Bank – UAH 3 million.
  • “K.A.N. Development – UAH 500 thousand.
  • KANBUD – UAH 500 thousand.
  • Ukrainian Agrarian Holding – UAH 3 million.
  • Charitable Organization “BGV” – UAH 3 million.
  • FUIB – UAH 3 million.
  • Trading and Production Company First Private Brewery “For People – as for Ourselves!” – UAH 2 million.
  • OTP Bank – UAH 1 million.
  • PrivatBank – UAH 2 million.
  • WEST PETROL MARKET – UAH 1 million.
  • Nova Poshta – UAH 2 million.
