iOS 18 may receive the Vision Pro interface
The iOS operating system has hardly undergone any major interface changes in recent years. The Verifier website reports that this will soon change – the iPhone OS will receive elements of visionOS.
The Apple TV app on iPadOS 18 is said to have a translucent navigation bar. This is the same design language that Apple used in the interface of the recently announced Vision Pro mixed reality headset.
The first sign is the tvOS 17.2 update, where Apple introduced a new sidebar. The panel was made translucent, like in visionOS. Similar changes to the menu are expected on iPad on iPadOS 18.
The report mentions that Apple plans to change the design of system programs in iOS 18, including Safari. iOS 18 may also change the appearance of some menus and system elements. Although design changes are not confirmed at this stage, the company will present a new version at its WWDC 2024 event.
According to the Wccftech website, this source has an ambiguous history, so the information should be treated critically.
Earlier, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that iOS 18 could be Apple’s biggest update in recent years. The system will receive new artificial intelligence features and “ambitious changes in all aspects,” according to Craig Federighi, head of Apple’s software development department. The new operating system is considered by the company as one of the largest iOS updates.
Apple iOS 18 may include an updated version of Siri with an AI language model, AI integration into the Messages app, Apple Music, iWork, and Xcode programs.
