iPhone 15 is not compatible with all portable batteries that have a USB Type-C connector

Sometimes the smartphone starts charging the power bank

Apple started selling iPhone 15 smartphones about two weeks ago. In addition to overheating of more expensive models, the new products have another problem.

The iPhone 15 was the first Apple smartphone line to replace the proprietary Lightning connector with a USB-C port. You can use it to charge your phone or connect an external device. According to MacRumors, not every power bank can recharge the iPhone 15 battery.

As it became known, not all portable batteries with a USB-C connector can work correctly when connected to the iPhone 15. In most cases, the problem only manifests itself in the fact that the smartphone is not charging. However, there are situations when the iPhone 15 takes on the role of a portable battery and starts charging the power bank.

The problem is observed in a number of devices. For example, Anker has stated that to recharge the iPhone 15 with the PowerCore Slim 10k PD power bank, you need to use only the USB Type-A connector.

It is believed that the problem is related to the implementation of the reverse wired charging function in Apple smartphones, which allows you to quickly transfer part of the mAh to AirPods headphones or Apple Watch smartwatches.
