iPhone 15 will get a camera that has been present in Android flagships since 2021

The iPhone 15 smartphone in the maximum configuration (Pro Max) will be equipped with a periscope camera. It will significantly improve the optical zoom function. This was announced to the general public by Ming-Chi Kuo.

The fact that Apple is considering installing a periscope camera in its flagship device became known several years ago. Nevertheless, the apple giant has not presented an iPhone with this type of camera to date. The first “periscopes” appeared in Android flagships in 2021.

Kuo claims that the camera of the top-end iPhone 15 will use a complex lens system to refract light. In addition to improved quality of zoomed photos, it will provide the ability to zoom in ten times. Cameras in current iPhone models provide the ability to zoom in three times without losing quality.

It should be borne in mind that only the Pro Max model will be equipped with a periscope lens in the iPhone 15 lineup. The regular Pro version will receive it with the launch of the iPhone 16 line.
