iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max may get Wi-Fi 7 and 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera

A batch of rumors about the top versions of the iPhone 16 has leaked online. The new information was shared with the public by a representative of the analytical department of the Hong Kong corporation Haitong International Securities.

According to Jeff Pugh, the promising iPhone 16 Pro will receive an “ultra-wide” with an enlarged sensor for the first time in the history of the Apple company. The resolution of this module will be 48 megapixels. The main lens will also be made in 48-megapixel version. Similar innovations will be implemented in the 16 Pro Max model.

Ultra-wide mode lets you capture more light and use improved zoom. Apple is expected to use existing methods such as pixel binning and so-called “superpixels” to create the best low-light images.

Pu is also confident that Apple will build the Wi-Fi 7 wireless communication standard into these smartphones for the first time, which will provide higher data transfer speeds (up to +25% compared to Wi-Fi 6E). The new tool covers 4K-QAM and is designed to bring data rates up to 40 gigabits per second, as well as provide lower latency and frequency band combining.

Pu also made a forecast for the sales of the iPhone 15 series, which will be released in September-2023. According to his assumptions, Apple will release a total of 77 million devices by the end of this year (-6 million units compared to the previously announced plans). According to the analyst, Apple is responding to internal fears of a deterioration in demand.
