Iranian drones will become easy prey for Ukrainian air defense systems

If Iran does supply Russia with combat drones, the Ukrainian army will start shooting them down with fighter jets and air defense equipment. MANPADS Stinger are not suitable for solving this task because they are able to hit targets only at low altitudes. This became known from military expert Roman Svitan.

According to him, the Stinger can be used to attack air targets at an altitude of up to 5 km. The maximum height for Iranian drones Shahid-129 and Shahid-191 is 7-9 km. In this regard, drones can only be destroyed with the help of fighters or anti-aircraft means.

The speed of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles is 150-200 km. They belong to the class of ‘quiet’ aircraft. Drones cannot boast of high maneuverability. In this regard, they will become easy prey for Ukrainian air defense systems and fighter aircraft.

Svitan added that when the NASAMS and IRIS-T systems appear in the armed forces of the Armed Forces, there will be no point in using Iranian drones. Western complexes are capable of hitting targets up to 20 km away.
