Israeli-made GAIA Amir armored personnel carriers appeared in the service of the Ukrainian army. As you know, Israel does not supply arms to our country. Journalist Barak Ravid believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could have received armored vehicles from one of the European states.
Israeli-made armored vehicles were used by the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the operation to de-occupy Kherson. Ravid claims that they were received by Ukraine without the consent of Tel Aviv. Israel-made weapons are subject to export control regulations. They prohibit the supply of military products to third countries without the consent of the Israeli authorities
GAIA Amir armored cars are assembled at the facilities of Gaia Automotive Industries. The anti-mine vehicle has a 4×4 wheel formula. It can accommodate up to 12 people. The carrying capacity of the armored car declared by the manufacturer is 2.4 tons. The GAIA Amir uses the Ford F-550 chassis, which has an independent suspension.
GAIA Amir is designed for personnel transportation, delivery of military cargo and evacuation of the wounded. The Israeli army uses such armored vehicles in reconnaissance operations.
