Japan intends to terminate the program of support for Ukrainian refugees evacuating to Japan. The program was launched last year as an emergency measure after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“The Japanese government is ending the program as a new system will be launched in December under a revised immigration law,” NHK said.
Another reason for the program’s termination is a decrease in demand.
“The number of people using the program has recently dropped to about one person per flight,” writes the Japanese edition of NHK.
As a reminder, the German government wants to simplify the requirements for Ukrainian refugees to speak German.
