Kaman-19 will be able to jam drones in the sky: what is known about the new Iranian drone

The Iranian army has unveiled a new Kaman-19 drone with an electronic warfare (EW) system that will block enemy drones.

This was reported by The Jerusalem Post with reference to Iranian state media.

According to Iranian Brigadier General Alireza Sheikh, the drone was successfully tested during combat exercises. Kaman-19 means “war bow” in Farsi and during testing it successfully jammed the communications of alleged “enemy” drones, the Iranian military said. The Iranian army keeps the technical details of the new UAV secret.

“Although these weapons do not perform well in destroying their intended targets, Russia is likely to see them as useful decoys that could distract Ukrainian air defenses from more effective Russian cruise missiles,” the UK Ministry of Defense said, according to The Jerusalem Post.

In addition, according to the publication, about 200 Iranian drones are currently covering the strategic waters of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Also last month, Iran announced that its engineers had developed a drone with the longest range in the world. The video with the text “get ready to run to the shelter” was a clear reference to Israel, the newspaper writes.
