Kyiv. Instant reaction of Patriot calculations – Iskander-M or S-400 shot down – Air Force

The defense forces destroyed a missile that the occupiers used to attack Kyiv. It is being determined what type of missile it was: “Iskander-M or S-400, said Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk and thanked the Patriot calculations.

“On the morning of November 11, the occupiers insidiously attacked the capital of Ukraine with ballistic missiles. We will find out later whether it was an Iskander-M ballistic missile or an S-400 anti-aircraft guided missile,” he wrote.

The commander thanked the combat crews of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system for their “instant response” in defending the capital.

Oleshchuk also expressed gratitude to all those who repelled the attack by Shahed kamikaze drones on the night of November 11.

REFERENCE. “Iskander” is a family of ballistic tactical surface-to-surface missile systems. The maximum range of a target with ballistic missiles from the Iskander-M is at least 500 km (publicly announced) and can reach 700 km (according to expert estimates, in the case of a nuclear warhead or a lightweight conventional warhead).

The S-400 Triumph is a long- and medium-range air defense missile system. It was adopted in Russia in 2007. The maximum range is 400 kilometers. The Russian Defense Ministry calls the S-400 one of the key elements of air defense. The system has also been supplied to other countries: Belarus, China, India, Turkey, and India. The Pentagon offered Ankara to transfer the S-400 to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in exchange for the lifting of sanctions in March 23. However, Turkey refused to do so.

As a reminder, on the evening of November 10 and at night of November 11, the Defense Forces destroyed 19 of the 31 Shahed kamikaze drones of the Russian occupiers, the invaders attacked with UAVs and missiles.

In the Kyiv region, the blast wave damaged private houses and the company’s business premises were also damaged. There were no casualties, no hits to critical or residential infrastructure.
