Leica introduced Cine 1 ‘laser TVs’ starting at $6,900
During the consumer electronics exhibition IFA 2022, which takes place from September 2 to 6 in Berlin (Germany), Leica announced the entry into the market of laser TVs with devices from the Cine 1 family.
Specialists from the Chinese company Hisense took part in the development of solutions. At Leica, the new products are called ‘laser TVs’, but in fact they are ultra-short-throw projectors made with Triple RGB laser technology. The equipment includes Summicron optics with aspherical elements, manufactured to Leica’s high standards.
The Cine 1 series includes two models: for forming an image of 80 and 100 inches diagonally. The first is installed at a distance of 15 cm from the screen or wall, the second – 30 cm. Moreover, the developers emphasize that these values should be changed.
Projectors provide 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. In the younger version, the brightness reaches 2100 lumens, in the older version – 2500 lumens. The declared service life exceeds 25,000 hours.
The devices have a Dolby Atmos audio system, a built-in TV tuner, three HDMI interfaces, including HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
The price of Cine 1 will be $6,900 for the 80-inch version and $7,900 for the 100-inch version. Sales will begin in the second quarter of next year.
