The United States received a warrant for the confiscation of a Boeing aircraft belonging to the Russian company Lukoil

The US Department of Justice announced the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of the Boeing 737-7EM aircraft of the Russian Lukoil company. The aircraft in question is VP-CLR and serial number 34865.

The United States is confiscating the plane for violating sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation by the US Department of Commerce. The Ministry of Justice notes that the oil and gas corporation’s Boeing 737-7EM made flights to and from Russia, while American-made aircraft were prohibited from doing so without obtaining the appropriate license.

The cost of the Boeing 737-7EM is $45 million. The plane is currently located in the Russian Federation. How the United States intends to seize the aircraft is currently unclear. Several agencies are currently investigating the matter, including the Department of Commerce, the FBI, and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
