Leonardo presents anti-drone turrets with AI-controlled electric drive (video)
Leonardo, one of the leading developers of combat systems, has brought anti-drone turrets to the Seafuture Seafuture exhibition that opened in La Spezia. According to Defense Mirror, AI is responsible for their management.
The LIONFISH sea-based turret was shown at the exhibition event in 12.7 mm Top, Inner Reloading and Ultralight versions. In addition, Leonardo showed a 20-mm version of the offshore tower. The products are characterized by high rate of fire and long range. The turrets are capable of firing highly effective ammunition filled with pre-formed fragments.
The HITFIST 30 turret for engaging ground targets is lighter and more compact. It can be installed on armored vehicles, cars, and other vehicles. The turret is capable of countering asymmetric threats of all types. It uses aerial explosive munitions to destroy targets.
