Leyland DAF trucks are being used to make car repair shops for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Kunga kennels are mounted on the truck, which are then equipped with a large set of devices and tools – from machine tools to semi-automatic welding machines.

Ukrainian volunteers are implementing a project to set up mobile car repair shops for the military. based on used English Leyland DAF trucks.

The project is being implemented by the Petro Poroshenko Charitable Foundation and the NGO “Community Matters”.

Mobile auto repair shops allow repairing damaged military vehicles without being pulled back to the rear, close to the front line. Every battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine needs such auto repair shops. In 2023, the philanthropists plan to supply 50 such vehicles to the troops.

The workshops are based on Leyland DAF all-wheel drive trucks, a batch of which was purchased abroad. The cost of one mobile workshop is about UAH 924,000.

A series of 50 machines made it possible to negotiate minimum prices for the production of the van and discounts from tool suppliers.

Recently, another workshop was transferred to a separate presidential brigade fighting in the East.

In Ukraine, a similar project is being implemented by the Come Back Alive charitable foundation, which has provided the military with mobile workshops for the restoration of HMMWV armored vehicles.

Each mobile station is equipped with a manipulator, generator, compressor and mobile tire changer, as well as all the necessary tools and a comfortable workplace.
