Lithuania is the first in the EU to receive robotic delivery

Last week, Vilnius became the first European city to introduce robotic delivery on city streets, The heart of tech reports.

Developed by the Estonian startup company Clevon in collaboration with the Lithuanian delivery platform LastMile, three robots now deliver groceries to customers’ doors in the center of the capital.

Robots pick up goods from the IKI supermarket. After ordering, customers receive a notification with the arrival time and a code to unlock the vehicle door. Delivery is free.

Clevon claims that its autonomous carriers are flexible and environmentally friendly. They are electric and have compartments of different sizes to accommodate both smaller and larger orders.

 

In terms of safety, the robots move at a maximum speed of 25 km/h. They are equipped with 360-degree cameras and radars for street navigation.
