Live streaming on YouTube captured the collision with and collapse of a bridge in Baltimore (full video)

In the morning hours of Tuesday, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed. The cause was a collision between a container ship and a bridge pillar, which led to the bridge falling into the waters of the Patapsco River. The entire incident was captured on video during a live broadcast. The video shows the entire path of the cargo ship’s approach to the bridge, the flashing lights on the ship itself, and the moment of the collision.

According to The Associated Press, several cars fell into the water, which is confirmed by video footage. According to preliminary data, up to eight construction workers could have been on the bridge at the time of the collapse, six of whom have not yet been found.

Maryland Governor Wes Moore said at a press conference on Tuesday morning that the ship lost power and sent a distress call, allowing nearby workers to prevent more cars from crossing the bridge. One person was hospitalized with injuries after the collapse, the other did not need hospitalization.

The Francis Scott Key Bridge is an important transportation structure in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. It is a 2.5 kilometer long road bridge that was built in 1977. The bridge served as an important transportation hub, providing connections between different parts of the city.
