Long-range GLSDB missiles for HIMARS will appear in service with the Armed Forces

This week, the US will announce the contents of a new weapons package. According to Politico, its volume will be about 2.5 billion USD.

The White House refused to include Abrams tanks in the package. Instead of them, it included Stryker armored vehicles. In addition, long-range GLSDB missiles were included in the package. Sources of the publication claim that the refusal to transfer tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is due to problems with logistics. Along with this, there are no conditions for their maintenance in Ukraine.

Politico’s article emphasizes that the Ukrainian army will not receive tactical missiles that can be used to strike Moscow. GLSDB missiles are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 160 km. M142 HIMARS complexes are used for their launch.

GLSDB is a small-sized high-precision ammunition. The winged bomb was designed by Boeing and SAAB engineers. Ammunition is aimed at the target using the inertial system and GPS.
