Massive explosion at Nagorno-Karabakh gasoline storage facility, over 200 injured (video)

On Monday, September 25, a massive explosion occurred at a fuel storage facility in Nagorno-Karabakh on the Stepanakert-Askeran highway.

This was reported by the local emergency service on Facebook.

The agency said that there were casualties and injuries as a result of the explosion. Many people were hospitalized with burns.

According to the Ombudsman, Gegham Stepanyan, more than 200 people were injured. He emphasized that the condition of most of the victims is serious or extremely serious, and local medical facilities are insufficient to provide assistance.

“Medical aircraft must land very urgently to save lives. Very urgently, without delay,” Stepanyan emphasized.

According to the News.am portal, the place where the explosion allegedly occurred was used to distribute fuel to people leaving the republic.

The Mash Telegram channel also reported, citing local residents, that there were many people in the area of the explosion who were hoping to refuel before leaving Nagorno-Karabakh.

As a reminder, a ceasefire was decided in unrecognized Karabakh starting on September 20. It happened a day after Azerbaijan launched an anti-terrorist operation.
