“Mechanical Army”: Ukrainian developers launch mass production of combat robots (photo)
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that mass production of robotic ground platforms is starting in Ukraine. The Brave1 cluster for the development of military technologies has already tested more than 50 such systems at the test site.
According to Fedoriv, the Kamikaze and Turret platforms were tested accordingly. They destroy the positions and equipment of the Russian occupiers, mine, demine, evacuate the wounded and deliver ammunition.
Fedorov noted that the robots have successfully proven themselves at the training ground and will be on the battlefield in a few months. “We continue to develop innovations so that the Defense Forces can purchase them,” the official added.
The head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation clarified that the main purpose of such ground robots is to minimize human involvement on the battlefield. According to him, this will help preserve the lives and health of Ukrainian soldiers.
“Ground robotic systems will be the next game changer in this war, just like drones are already. This is an asymmetric response to the enemy’s numerical superiority,” he assures.
Mykhailo Fedorov said that the Brave1 cluster is doing everything to scale up the production of robots, and the government is starting to buy them en masse.
“We are going the same way with UAVs as we did with robotic platforms. Our task is to produce and improve innovations for the Defense Forces, and to create comfortable conditions for manufacturers,” the minister said.
Fedorov clarified that more than 140 robotic systems are registered on the Brave1 platform, 96 of them have passed defense expertise, and 14 developments have been codified according to NATO standards. He also said that some of these “robots” are already operating at the front, such as the ShaBlya turret.
Earlier, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Ukrainian MAGURA V5 maritime drones would soon be able to attack not only land and water targets, but also air targets. Engineers are currently working on integrating air defense systems on board the UAV.
