Mercedes-Benz tests fingerprint scanner with driver sobriety detector
The world’s leading automakers are adopting technologies developed by Korean startups. In particular, they are actively used by the largest German automakers Benz and BMW. This is a new approach to detecting alcohol in drivers.
This was reported by Businesskorea.
They have developed a sensor that determines the alcohol content in a person’s blood using a fingerprint. This sensor can be built into the engine start button, which will help prevent a knowingly drunk driver from driving a vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz has already shown interest in this technology. They are also considering other developments by Korean engineers, including JD Solution’s directional sound technology.
This technology allows the driver to hear voice prompts from on-board systems or talk on the phone through the speakerphone system without distracting other passengers.
