Mercedes has opened its own branded charging hub in Europe.
A hub with charging stations for electric vehicles has been launched on the territory of a Mercedes subsidiary in Mannheim, in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region of Germany. This is one of the most important transportation corridors in the country.
The hub received six charging stations with a capacity of 300 kW each. The chargers have one port each. Due to their high power, some electric vehicles can charge from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. By the way, charging stations can be used to charge any electric car, but Mercedes owners have advantages: a lower tariff, plug-and-play support, and the ability to charge their car for free for a month through the Mercedes me Charge app.
The hub will appear on maps in all Mercedes cars. In the future, users will also be able to book a charging spot in advance. In 2024, the company intends to launch similar hubs in Italy, Spain, and France. By the way, such stations have previously appeared in the United States and China.
