China introduces “angle pistol”: it allows shooting from cover without endangering yourself

In China, they showed corner gun“, a weapon that can be used to fire from around the corner of a building without endangering a soldier.

China has developed three types of weapons of this type: HD-66, CF-06, and CS/LW9. The QSZ-92 pistol is predominantly used in these systems, although the LW9 also uses NP22/34 pistols.

The CS/LW9 was developed by the China Artillery Industry Research Institute in an attempt to create a system similar to Israel’s Cornershot.

HD-66 is designed for urban warfare and anti-terrorist operations. The pistol allows the military to effectively fire from cover without endangering themselves.

HD-66, equipped with the ability to install various accessories such as cameras, infrared lasers, flashlights, silencers and rubber bullets, it offers good versatility.

The chief designer of this weapon, Qing Shanseng, insisted that the HD-66 is a local development that differs from the original Israeli CornerShot, although it is inspired by its concept. This weapon is mainly based on the QSZ-92 pistol, which reflects a combination of innovation and adaptability to the modern Chinese arsenal.

The CF-06, also developed by Chongqing Changfeng Machinery Co Ltd and Shanghai Sea Shield Technologies Company, is another achievement in the field of Chinese angle weapons. Like the HD-66, it uses the QSZ-92 pistol as its main weapon, but differs in its customization options and additional modules.

The CS/LW9 is distinguished by its design: the handle is on the bottom, which allows the weapon to be turned to the left or right. Although it can use the QSZ-92 pistol, unlike its counterparts, it is also capable of using the NP22/34 and CS/LW9 pistols.

The CornerShot system, created by Israeli Defense Forces Lieutenant Colonel Amos Golan, has gone down in the history of angle weapons. This allows users to see and shoot from cover without endangering themselves. However, Chinese technologies include elements of augmented reality.
