Mercedes Zetros cars donated by Germany are already in Ukraine

Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks has supplied more than 100 Zetros off-road trucks to the Ukrainian security forces.

The delivery was announced on September 5 by Daimler Truck. It was emphasized that in addition to the equipment, the logistics of spare parts is being developed in the form of free military support. Preliminary training for drivers was also conducted.

The funds for the purchase of the hooded vehicles came from the German government. Two other German ministries are involved in this project, the Foreign and Defense Ministries.

Mostly all-wheel drive vehicles have arrived, but there are different versions of 6×6 and 4×4 vehicles with weights ranging from 16.5 to 40 tons.

The off-road trucks are equipped with a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine OM 460 with an output of 360 to 476 hp. The 12.8-liter displacement provides a maximum torque of up to 2,300 Nm.

A 16-speed gearbox and a two-speed Zetros transfer case are standard. The engaging differential lock can generate traction even if individual wheels lose traction.
