Microsoft Copilot has received the function of creating music through integration with Suno
Microsoft’s Copilot chatbot can now compose songs thanks to integration with Suno, a music app powered by generative artificial intelligence.
Copilot users can now enter text prompts such as “compose a pop song about traveling.” On their basis, Suno generates ready-made musical compositions with vocals, instrumental accompaniment and lyrics.
The integration is available when using the chatbot in the Microsoft Edge browser. To do this, you need to log in to your Microsoft account and enable the Suno plugin.
According to the developers, such cooperation “opens up new horizons for creativity,” making music creation accessible to a wide audience.
At the same time, integration raises a number of ethical issues. Most often, AI algorithms are trained on existing music pieces. At the same time, not all authors of original compositions gave their consent and received compensation.
A number of musicians and organizations have already expressed dissatisfaction with this practice. For example, the Grammy Awards have banned the consideration of fully AI-generated compositions for their awards.
