Microsoft expands availability of Android apps in Windows 11

In its ongoing effort to improve the Windows Subsystem for Windows 11, Microsoft is expanding the list of available Android apps and games. Amazon Appstore was recently launched in 30 regions, and now Amazon is opening it up to more developers.

Microsoft believes that this could lead to more Android apps and games appearing on Windows 11 through the Amazon app store. This, in turn, can alleviate the problem of the lack of applications on the Microsoft Store platform.

Windows 11 has already added a number of popular applications and games from the Amazon AppStore, including TikTok, Audible, Hungry Shark Evolution, Epic Seven, and others. These games and programs were launched on Windows 11 without creating a separate desktop application.

“We look forward to bringing more Android apps and games to the Amazon Appstore for Windows 11,” the company said.

Windows 11 received a major update to the Android system in July. This update includes support for more apps and games, as well as significant improvements to the Windows 11 subsystem for Android. Particularly important changes include camera compatibility, which allows Android apps to better utilize camera hardware.

In addition, support for an improved full-screen mode has been added, which can be activated by pressing F11. It now displays a taskbar when you hover the mouse, which improves the mouse and touch experience. This feature provides users with a more immersive and interactive experience when using Android apps on Windows.

You can also now connect Android apps to devices on the same network through Advanced Settings – Experimental Features, replacing the previous Advanced Network.
