Military commissariats start calling 25-year-old citizens for data clarification and medical examination
Territorial recruitment centers will call citizens who are registered with the military and have reached the age of 25 to clarify their data, undergo a medical examination and complete documents.
This was stated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The reason for this is the signing of a law reducing the age limit for citizens to be registered with the military from 27 to 25 years.
This law was officially published in the Golos Ukrainy newspaper on April 3. It will come into force on the day following the day of publication, i.e., April 4.
Citizens who have reached the age of 25 will be subject to removal from the military registration of conscripts and registration of persons liable for military service.
The General Staff noted that they will be summoned to the TCC to clarify their credentials, undergo a medical examination and draw up the relevant military registration documents.
More about the law
As a reminder, such amendments to the legislation to reduce the age limit for citizens to be registered for military service were jointly developed by the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
They explained that during the martial law regime, there was no need for citizens to be registered with the military conscription office until the age of 27.
First, since conscripts arrive at military registration and enlistment offices every year, including for medical examinations, this leads to additional financial costs, a burden on medical workers, and longer queues for medical examinations. Whereas conscription for regular military service during martial law is not carried out.
Secondly, the prolonged stay on the military register of conscripts during martial law leads to the fact that a significant number of persons eligible for military service who do not have the status of persons liable for military service cannot be called up for military service during mobilization.
