Modified Neptune cruise missile will be able to reach Moscow

Ukrainian engineers modified the R-360 Neptune anti-ship missile. The new version of the missile is suitable for striking ground targets. It hit the S-400 system on the Crimean peninsula. A representative of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry told War Gonzo.

According to him, the range of the modified P-360 is currently 400 km. Specialists are working to increase it. The missile can carry up to 350 kg of explosives. The weight of the warhead of the original anti-ship missile is 150 kg. It can fly 300 km over the sea.

Thus, Ukrainian engineers have managed to improve the technical characteristics of Neptune quite significantly. It is possible that the modified R-360 is the same new domestically produced cruise missile mentioned by the NSDC.

The War Gonzo source said that the missile received a new GPS guidance system and an infrared GWS. The target is identified by the missile using an image downloaded to the onboard computer in advance. The Ukrainian Armed Forces currently have several dozen modified missiles at their disposal. At the same time, their production volumes continue to grow.
