At CES 2024, MouthPad presented a product that will allow you to use your tongue as a mouse replacement for devices such as a laptop, tablet, or phone.
This was reported by Engadget.
The touchpad looks like an orthodontic plate and can connect to devices via Bluetooth. It is made of a resin used in dental aligners and other dental devices. The MouthPad is powered by a battery supplied by Varta, a company specializing in medical batteries.
MouthPad is 0.7 mm thick, and the touch panel itself is 5 mm thick. While using the device, you need to take it out while eating, but you can talk without removing it from your mouth.
MouthPad can work for five hours without recharging, and recharging takes about an hour and a half. It uses Apple’s Assistive Touch feature for navigation in iOS, but it can also be recognized by other devices as a Bluetooth mouse.
The device is already on sale in early access mode and will be made generally available later this year. Each MouthPad is printed on a 3D printer, based on the dental impressions that customers send when ordering.
