Musk may close access to social network X in Europe
In recent weeks, American billionaire Elon Musk has been considering blocking the social network X (Twitter) in the European Union.
This was reported by Business Insider, citing a person close to the company.
The source said that the businessman discussed removing the program in the region or blocking access to it for users in the European Union.
The Law on Digital Services came into force in August and requires large online platforms like X to have effective and transparent systems in place to moderate and remove false, misleading, and harmful messages.
Last week, EU Commissioner Thierry Breton announced an investigation into X’s compliance with the new law and formally requested detailed information from the platform about its actions to mitigate and remove harmful or toxic information.
Musk’s company may be fined if it is found to be in violation of the law.
