Musk offered $1 billion to rename Wikipedia obscenely

American businessman Elon Musk has offered Wikipedia a billion dollars if they change their name to Dickipedia.

The billionaire wrote about this on his Twitter page.

Later, journalist Ed Krassenstein called on the organization to change its name.

Do it! You can always change it back after you raise the funds,” wrote Krassenstein.

“At least one year. I’m not a fool,” Musk replied.

The entrepreneur expressed his dissatisfaction with the Wikimedia Foundation and asked why such a large amount of money was needed to manage Wikipedia when all “their content can fit on a cell phone.”

In response, the foundation reported significant operational costs required to handle more than 25 billion page views and more than 44 million page edits per month.

This is not the first time Musk and Wikipedia have clashed. In May, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales criticized Musk for his decision to restrict certain content on X ahead of the Turkish presidential election.
