Nagastra-1 reusable drone is recognized as the best kamikaze UAV on the market
The Indian army will soon receive the Nagastra-1 barrage munition. It was created by engineers from Solar Industries Nagpur. This company managed to beat drone manufacturers from Poland and Israel in the tender.
The Indian company signed a contract with the army for USD 25 million. It provides for the delivery of 450 units of kamikaze drones to the customer. The Nagastra-1 model recently made its debut in New Delhi at a military conference. The manufacturer plans to use 75% of locally produced components in the assembly of barrage munitions for the Indian army.
The developers claim that the Nagastra-1 is capable of hitting any enemy target with an accuracy of up to two meters. The aircraft uses GPS positioning to target the target. The drone is fully electric. It is made in the form of a fixed wing. The declared autonomy of the barrage munition is 60 minutes and the range is 30 km.
A night vision camera allows the Nagastra-1 to be operated at any time of the day or night. The weight of the UAV’s warhead is 1.5 kg. The most amazing feature of the Indian kamikaze drone is its reusability. If for some reason a given target is not attacked, the drone will easily return to the launch site and then gently land on the ground using a parachute.
