NASA shows unusual photos of Saturn taken by the James Webb Space Telescope

In early summer, NASA used the James Webb Space Observatory to observe Saturn. Unusual photos of the sixth planet from the Sun were published on the James Webb Space Telescope Feed website.

You can see Saturn in an unusual way thanks to the publication of raw photos taken by the space telescope. The black-and-white executions were received at the end of last week. The planet on them looks spectacular primarily due to its main feature – a system of rings.

James Webb and other space telescopes cannot take color photos. They transmit black and white images to the Earth, which are then processed by specialists. Processing allows you to not only make the images beautiful, but also to mark objects of scientific interest.

In some photos, we can clearly see the system of rings, while the planet itself is almost invisible. This is because Saturn and its rings have different reflectivity.
