The National Bank has issued a new UAH 10 coin. The reverse depicts a Patriot launcher instead of Ukrainian Hetman Ivan Mazepa.
This was reported by the NBU.
It is noted that the coin was dedicated to the Air Defense Forces on the eve of the Air Force Day, which is celebrated on August 6.
“Today we are presenting our new commemorative coin “Air Defense – Reliable Shield of Ukraine” to engrave the victory of the air defense units in metal. These coins will be in circulation every day and will remind us of the heroism and feats of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of those to whom we are grateful for the lives saved, moments of peace and the unconquered free sky above our heads,” the bank said.
The coin did not become a collector’s item and is freely available, with a mintage of 10 million units, which is 6% of the current number of ten-hryvnia coins. At the same time, part of the circulation will be formed into specially designed videos as souvenirs. They will be available for sale starting August 9.
The National Bank of Ukraine is putting the commemorative coin “Air Defense – a Reliable Shield of Ukraine” into cash circulation starting today, August 4, 23.
